Job Description

My client an international award winning organization is currently recruiting SENIOR CIVIL / STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS for opportunities based in Northern Ontario to work in an multi discipline consultancy environment on mining projects.

Candidate should have a strong technical design background and CAD proficiency (preferably with AutoCAD / AutoPlant / MicroStation / PDS / SmartPlant / etc.). Ideally, the experience should include work on heavy industrial projects such as power supply facilities, mining facilities, large petrochemical plants and refineries, as well as oil and gas production
facilities.

• Responsibilities include:
  Develop the detailed specifications for the project by utilizing the client
  specifications
• Prepare the technical sections of inquiries for subcontracts, review tenders and make recommendations leading to the selection of vendors
• Develop and execute designs for foundations, structural steel, stacks, earthwork and site drainage
• Develop competent knowledge in all areas of responsibilities of the Civil Department such as buildings, interior finishing and fireproofing
• Prepare or assist in preparation of the cost estimates for the Civil accounts for bids and proposal work
• Participate in the developmental performance evaluation for the Civil staff Assist in organizing and maintaining departmental design guidelines
• When required on a project, coordinate check-out and start-up of field activities and coordinate work with Construction Superintendent
• When assigned by the chief civil engineer, carry out the responsibilities of a "Lead Engineer" on a given project

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or Applied Science, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
• Broad engineering background normally acquired through 6-10 years of experience
  Membership in APEGGA
