Position: Field Manager

Note: This is a Fly-In, Fly-Out Operation.

Levert Executive is the largest recruitment agency in Northern Ontario with offices in North Bay, Sudbury and Timmins. Our client base is made up of small, medium and multinational organizations. We have been successfully serving clients and candidates for over 25 years.

Our client was formed to exploit an Iron Ore mine and concentrator in Schefferville, QC on the border of Newfoundland and Labrador.  They are a joint venture ranked in the top 10 steel producers.  They employ over 80,000 people in five continents and boasts a revenue in excess of $20 billion for the 2010 fiscal year.  The current project consists of upgrading high grade hematite ore with a feasibility study on a much larger project underway.  The current project is a fly-in, fly-out operation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ hands on experience in project management.
  • Post-Secondary Education with a specialization in Project Management would be beneficial.
  • Proven analytical expertise and Excellent communication skills.
  • Well-developed ability to evaluate situations, and be able to make sound judgments.
  • Ability to lead with direct reporting lines, build team dynamics, facilitate and coordinate.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Leading communication with multi-departmental stakeholder group responsible.
  • Being the key contact for the newly deliver industrial supplied.
  • Assist when available on smaller project or improvement initiatives.
  • Lead project stakeholder meetings.
  • Accelerate decisions by communicating with appropriate level for issue resolution.
  • Manage day to day operational aspects of projects and scope.
  • Review deliverables and keep task lists, timelines and completion up to date.
  • Effectively apply methodology and enforce project standards.
  • Work closely with executive team to ensure corporate objectives are being met.
  • Act as liaison - keeping executive updated as to project status and project decisions, and project team informed of any changes in project direction, timeline, scope, etc.
