Note: This is a Fly-In, Fly-Out Operation.

Our client was formed to exploit an Iron Ore mine and concentrator in Schefferville, QC on the border of Newfoundland and Labrador.  They are a joint venture ranked in the top 10 steel producers.  They employ over 80,000 people in five continents and boasts a revenue in excess of $20 billion for the 2010 fiscal year.  The current project consists of upgrading high grade hematite ore with a feasibility study on a much larger project underway.  The current project is a fly-in, fly-out operation.

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of relevant experience with Post-secondary education in Chemistry or Sciences.
• Proven capability in ensuring quality control mechanisms are in place.
• Knowledge of lab procedures and equipment.
• Familiarity with writing lab procedures.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Be the primary technical contact for internal and external need.
• Review and approve test methods for specified area.
• Provide guidance and direction on proper methodology for complex sampling methodology.
• Perform quality control analysis and ensure optimum operation of the laboratory equipment.
• Offer direction to documenting methodology.
• Provide training to analytical personnel when required.
