Our client is a leader in industrial automation systems that are used in companies around the globe. They specialize in designing, manufacturing and installing automated systems for use in heavy industrial environments. They are rapidly expanding and are looking for motivated individuals to join their team.
Qualifications:
- A high caliber senior mechanical engineer has or qualifies for his P.Eng.
- The role is a senior level position for an individual who enjoys the practical execution of projects.
- The ideal candidate enjoys working as a project engineer as well as participate as a senior designer depending on the size of the project.
- Successful candidate must have the ability to produce AutoCad design detail drawings to industry standards.
- Successful candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to create formal technical feasibility reports, Scope of Work documents, functional description and design briefs.
- Successful candidate must be work well with project management and customers and be able to take on day to day project management responsibilities reporting directly to the manager of projects or departmental managers. Typical project responsibilities may include, budget control, scheduling and scope management.
- Ability to lead a multi-discipline project team; Structural, mechanical and electrical
- Ability to work independently and individually on smaller project.
- Must have solid AutoCad skills.
- Microstation Cadd skill would be an asset
- 10 years experience or better
- Typical experience include; hvac, piping, ventilation, process piping and control systems, steam heating systems, bulk material conveyance, chutes, feeders, …
- Specific experience in mining surface and underground operations would be an asset
- Specific experience related to backfill plants would be a big asset
- Construction management would be an asset
- Must be able to interact and participate as part of team lead by others
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead the design team when appropriate as determined by project discipline content
- Manage deadline, schedules and budget
- Detail design or mechanical system
- Provide mechanical support within a team when required.
- Execute smaller mechanical designs wholesale including doing design detail drawings
- Develop a scope of work for client
- Complete feasibility studies.
- Develop design concept to produce engineering and supply estimate
- Assist with the development of estimate for labor and equipment cost.
