Position: Heavy-Duty Equipment Supervisor & Superintendent (two separate roles)
Locations: Schefferville, Quebec & Northern Labrador

Note: The current project is a fly-in, fly-out operation.

Our client was formed to exploit an Iron Ore mine and concentrator in Schefferville, QC on the border of Newfoundland and Labrador.  They are a joint venture ranked in the top 10 steel producers.  They employ over 80,000 people in five continents and boasts a revenue in excess of $20 billion for the 2010 fiscal year.  The current project consists of upgrading high grade hematite ore with a feasibility study on a much larger project underway.  The current project is a fly-in, fly-out operation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Trade
• Extensive experience with Caterpillar Equipment managing repair shops, supervising and training various trade disciplines
• Must have in deep knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and experience in planning and administration.
• Competence with communication, facilities management and human resource
  development.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Oversee repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Train and supervise Mechanical Supervisors and various trades Mechanics how to use and benefit from planned maintenance programs.
• Design and implement preventive maintenance programs.
• Do on the job and classroom training for Heavy Duty Mechanics, Millwrights and heavy equipment operators.
• Prepare and administer Annual Maintenance budgets.
