Our client was formed to exploit an Iron Ore mine and concentrator in Schefferville, QC on the border of Newfoundland and Labrador. They are a joint venture ranked in the top 10 steel producers. They employ over 80,000 people in five continents and boasts a revenue in excess of $20 billion for the 2010 fiscal year. The current project consists of upgrading high grade hematite ore with a feasibility study on a much larger project underway. The current project is a fly-in, fly-out operation.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse.
- Possess strong computer skills or aptitude.
- Ability to thoroughly review medical reports and other written reports and tools available (i.e. Independent Medical Exams, Function Capacity Exams, surveillance reports and medical consultant reviews)
- Additional occupational health training and/or coaching training would be an asset.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
- You must be willing and able to travel fly in fly out and Remote site experience would be an asset.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop relationships with employers and understand their employees’ needs in relationship to attendance support, disability management, wellness and prevention and, in other words, be a subjective matter expert on these assigned groups;
- Provide a positive and efficient client experience for employers and employees through on-going conversations both in-person and telephonic regarding health issues and workplace attendance;
- Support positive health care outcomes through referral and ongoing interaction with other health care professionals and resources such as EFAP, Massage Therapists, Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, etc;
- Assess employees needs through ergonomic assessments, rehab consultation and performing scheduled onsite wellness screening (cholesterol, blood pressure, glucose, flu shot);
- Continuously provide proactive wellness coaching and promotion through Health Assessment
- Work independently on site
- Use your medical background, knowledge and experience to render decisions in collaboration with all stakeholders.
