Position: Senior Financial Accountant
Locations: North Bay, Ontario

Our client is currently seeking a Senior Financial Accountant. The successful incumbent will supervise and assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annually the financial statements and related information for our client.
This position reports to the Corporate Controller. The successful incumbent will lead a team of financial specialists, including the Budget and Reporting Analyst and the Financial Accountant.
Duties & Responsbilities:
- Responsible for monitoring subsidiaries’ adherence to the client's group of companies and their accounting standards, writing new ones as identified by the corporate controller, and recognizing the need for additional accounting standards
- Heavily involved in the third quarter hard close and year end audits
- Complete statutory government reporting
- Assist with internal and external audits. Identify and make recommendations on an ongoing basis in respect to internal control issues for the client's group of companies
- Assists in the preparation of the client's group of companies quarterly reporting
- Works with subsidiaries to resolve issues
- Prepare weekly cash report and forecast
- Ongoing testing and monitoring of automated consolidation project
- Assess subsidiaries compliance to policies and procedures
- General accounting duties as required.
- Willingness to work overtime on evenings and weekends is a must.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- Accounting designation, such as CMA, CA, or CGA
- Minimum of five (5) years of work experience post-graduation
- Demonstrated progression in level of responsibilities
- Budget preparation and review process
