This position is part of our client’s Shared Services Organization, which exists to improve the flow and quality of internal support services such as Information Technology, Procurement, Finance and Human Resources to all of their operating units throughout North America.

Qualifications & Education:

  • A diploma or degree in a related field
  • 3 years of experience in a similar field
  • Supervisory experience is an asset
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills

  • Goods and services knowledge

Expected Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Execute Shared Services Procurement in North America for a group of categories identified as part of the overall Corporate Procurement Strategy.
  • Lead the Canadian Shared Services Procurement team based out of Sudbury and work closely with the Shared Services Procurement teams in Brazil and other regional Shared Services Organization procurement offices in Canada.
  • Responsible for managing the successful execution of the Shared Services procurement strategy for Canada and the North Atlantic Region, ensuring the Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements are met.
  • Manage key users and suppliers and develop internal and external business relationships to ensure that customer requirements are met as required.
  • Facilitate the interfacing of Contract Administrators and Procurement Coordinators with local users, consolidating and understanding their needs and demands.
  • Support Contract Administrators and Procurement Coordinators while negotiating the regional clauses of services contracts and work with Shared Services Legal support as required during the execution of agreements.
  • Suggest annual cost savings programs and assist in the implementation of Shared Services business strategies that directly affect the Company’s financial results and growth plans.
  • Maintain and provide understanding of North American industry best practices and technology trends to the Shared Services teams in Brazil and regional procurement sites.
  • Recruit and develop a high performing and motivated local and regional procurement team.
  • Provide periodic reports to the Shared Services Procurement Manager about procurement processes, KPI and SLA performance and specific projects status.
  • Supervise and/or track procurement bid processes ensuring compliance to Canadian Contract Tender Law.
  • Lead and/or participate in multifunctional teams in order to ensure users demands are met in terms of scope, schedule, safety, quality and cost.
  • Lead and/or participate in multifunctional teams in order to improve the service procurement processes, including customer services level agreements (SLA’s) and reverse SLA’s.
  • Define and validate procurement strategies as recommended by Contract Administrators, Procurement Coordinators and end users based on procurement best practices, current market trends and Vale Canada Limited business requirements.
  • Seek inputs, user feedbacks regarding the Shared Services procurement process, allowing continuous learning and improvement.
  • Ensure procurement process compliance to company’s norms and policies as well as the required internal and external auditing criteria.
  • Represent our client’s Shared Services Organization at external meetings with national associations, federations, industry organizations, public and private entities.
  • Ensure that the Shared Services Organizations key objectives are met in terms of scope, schedule, safety, cost and quality.
