Position: Mine Engineer

Our client is a major retail supplier of agricultural products and services in North and South America. They are the only company that is involved with their product from the mining stages to finished product. A leading global wholesale producer and marketer of all three major agricultural ingredients that is also a premier supplier of specialty fertilizers in North America through an Advanced Technologies business unit.
Qualifications & Education:
- Degree in Mining Engineering or related field with experience
- Professional Engineer Designation
- MIN 6 Years of experience, preferably in Open-Pit
- Bilingualism is a good asset
- Experience working with MS Office, SAP, CAD, and Mine Planning software such as Surpac
Expected Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure short-term mine plans are produced and stewarded
- Ensure that short-term plans encompass the requirements of the long-term plan
- Report weekly & monthly tonnage & grade achievements
- Reconcile actual production results to budgeted results for formal reconciliation
- Participate in weekly Mine Sequencing meeting & provide post meeting updates and & plan to stakeholders
- Coordinate with Geotechnical Consultants in establishing ground control best practices and monitor stability issues
- Coordinate and manage change in planning to continuously improve department performance
- Audit documentation of geological issues in the drawing files to ensure that file accuracy is maintained & information is available for future use in the mine planning process
- Coordinate with the Mine Operations Superintendent and Mill Operations personnel on mill requirements
- Ensure all mine plans are communicated to & coordinated with the Mine Superintendent, Site Manager, Mill Superintendent and & their associated staff
- Highlight & coordinate drawings required for Mine Operations support
- Coordinate the inclusion of routine samples into block model updates
- Coordinate long-term mine planning activities
- Promote improvements in all areas to meet or exceed set targets
- Supervision of assorted Mine Engineering personnel
Additional Information:
- This position will be based out of Kapuskasing, ON for about 2 years
- Relocation assistance will be given
- Upon the completion of the operation in Kapuskasing, the company will relocate the successful individual to Saskatoon
