Qualifications & Education:
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business or Engineering
- A minimum of 4 years experience in similar type role
- Risk Management experience
- Auditing or security certifications would be considered an asset (i.e. CIA, CISA, CISSP, CFSA, CCSA, CISM, CGEIT etc.)
- PMP designation would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of COSO, ISO 27001, ITIL or COBIT would be assets
- Knowledge of platforms (desktops, NT servers, RS 6000 and VM/VSE), operating systems (Windows and UNIX/LINUX), business applications (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft) and technical services (internet, security, DRP, networking, telecom) would be assets
- Heavy industry/mining experience would be an asset
- Audit data analyst tool experience would be an asset
Expected Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development of a comprehensive audit plan for the review of IT processing controls for existing systems and systems under development
- Plan audits and execute processes to ensure audits are completed in accordance with established standards and within a prescribed time, budget and scope
- Evaluate controls in IT related areas and provide recommendations on how controls can be improved
- Maintain a positive relationship with clients and management that are audted by ensuring the scope of the audits are appropriately adjusted to reflect areas of concern raised by management to the highest standards of quality
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT audit processes and procedures
- Provide input as requested into the annual IT Audit Plan
- Provide specialized knowledge and advisory services to clients and IAS relating to IT risks and controls as well as emerging issues and trends in information technology
- Conduct research as needed to support specific audits
- Help build and maintain positive working relationships by effectively communicating and regularly sharing information, issues and points of interest, and knowledge with the management, IAS team members and clients
- Support management and other team members in the achievement of individual and departmental goals
- Prepare audit working papers
- Prepare clear, succinct, accurate and relevant audit reports
