Our client currently owns and operates six mines in Canada, Chile and the US which are projected to produce approximately 250 million pounds of copper, 115 000 ounces of gold, platinum, palladium and 7 million pounds of nickel in 2011.  They have a team-oriented environment that offers the opportunity to be challenged, to contribute and to grow.

Qualifications & Education:

  • 5-10 years related experience planning maintenance functions
  • 2 years of experience in Maintenance or Operations supervisory role
  • Licensed Mechanic / Electrical
  • Supervisory Common Core
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate and work with the maintenance teams
  • Familiar with computerized maintenance systems

Expected Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain up to date history for each piece of equipment
  • Prepare and update the maintenance plan for equipment considering the production plan with a rolling 12-month horizon
  • Track purchase management of key parts and supplies to ensure their availability for maintenance activities and make the appropriate decisions to address any deviation
  • Regularly update information of parts, ensuring: storage, coding, minimum and maximum stock, authorized dealers, weights, handling and conditions evaluation procedure for timely use.
  • Support the preparation of annual budget for Equipment maintenance on the basis of routine maintenance plans and estimates for corrective maintenance
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, confidentiality and environmental policies
  • Work closely with warehouse manager to ensure the accuracy of maintenance inventory
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and annual schedule for approval by supervisor
  • The Maintenance Planner is required to travel underground on a regular basis with contractors and maintenance personnel
  • Help minimize overtime labour hours
  • Other duties and special projects may be assigned
