Qualifications & Education:

• Post graduate degree in mining
• Supervisory Common Core training
• Knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act
• Experience in Deep Mining Techniques, Moss Survey System
• Ability to read, understand and interpret Mine Engineer layouts
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills and work in a team environment
• 5+ years experience in mining development and production
• Physically able to conduct the assigned work such as walking up and down ramps, ladders and stairways, working in active work headings, conduct lifting, and pulling on heavy parts
• Must be able to conduct general check scaling

Expected Roles and Responsibilities:

• Work in compliance with safety rules and the Internal Responsibility System
• Participate in appropriate training and comply within scope of responsibilities in the Environmental Management System
• Lead and coordinate mine development daily activities, including mucking, haulage, conveyors, and skipping of muck
• Lead and organize and direct the day to day underground development and production work
• Organize, prepare, perform and attend monthly safety meetings
• Perform work audits as well as enforce the Neil George Safety – 5 Point Safety System
• Ensure that employees are provided with all the tools necessary to do the job safely
