Position: Senior Mining Engineer

Qualifications & Education:

• Degree in Mining Engineering or related field with experience
• P. Eng designation
• 4+ Years of experience
• Requires the application of mature knowledge in planning and conducting  projects; having scope for independent accomplishments and coordination of difficult, complex responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of, or aptitude to learn CAD software such as CAMP, Mine2-4D or Amine.

Expected Roles and Responsibilities:

• Work in compliance with safety rules and Internal Responsibility System.
• Act as site environmental representative and for effective implementation and continued operation of the Environmental Management System.
• Participate in appropriate training and comply within the scope of immediate responsibilities.
• Ensures adequate budget is submitted and justified to ensure compliance.
• Oversee the functions performed by the Engineering Department, planning, scheduling, ground control, ventilation and surveying.
• Determine methods of extracting minerals, considering factors such as safety, operational costs, deposit characteristics, surrounding strata and proven Engineering and Technical Standards which conform to the Regulations outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act for Mines and Mining Plants.
• Create yearly Mine Budget.
