Qualifications & Education:
- University Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with product design and development and demonstrated technical accomplishments
- Technical experience with products, automated manufacturing, PCE programming and preferably related to the mining industry
- Engineering project management for small mechanical parts produced in a job order production facility
- Prior exposure to Finite Element Analysis
- Proven record of technical or design accomplishments
- Dynamic with strong development and communication skills
- Pro-active with good interpersonal skills
- Organized, detailed, analytical and results focused
- Business application software, AutoCAD and MS Office proficient
- Capable of travelling domestically as well as internationally
- Fluent in English with the ability to speak multiple languages an asset
- Self-starter that requires minimal supervision
Expected Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work with product managers, customers and other engineering technicians to design new/improved mechanical parts and assemblies
- Manage engineering data on current products, lead new product development projects and coordinate in house and sub-supplier specifications
- Support product managers and production with product maintenance, bills of material, product routings and quality controls
- Create 3-D models and engineering drawings for in-house and sub-contracted manufacturing
- Provide technical information to customers, product specialists, vendors and our production personnel
- Investigate complaints and inquiries on product quality and application
- Participate in D&D projects
- Focus for rock reinforcement products
- Manage engineering data on current products, lead new products and equipment development projects in collaboration with suppliers and with the Austrian team
- Work with potential supplier to implement production capacity
- Coordinate in house and sub-supplier specifications
- In collaboration with production and IMS investigate complaints and inquiries on product quality and applications
- Visit sites to assist customers when requested
