Qualifications & Education:
- 2+ years experience as a quality technician
- Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
- Technical experience with products and manufacturing
- Post-secondary education in the field of Engineering or Science
- Strong development and communication skills
- Pro-active with good interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge in business application software and MS Office
- Technical abilities to work with production, suppliers and equipment manufacturers
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills
- Ability to build and lead teams
Expected Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining SOP, inspection system, final inspections and quality assurance for production
- Record and compile audit and test results (in relation to quality, environmental, health and safety performance) and prepare graphs, charts and reports as part of the continuous improvement process
- Provide assistance to the IMS Coordinator for projects related to IMS
- Establish and maintain IMS documentation
- Responsible for maintaining calibration equipment (i.e. scales, pull tester)
- Introduce and control corrective / preventive actions
- Support business development and increase efficiency through alignment, focus and simplification of processes and routines
- Investigate complaints and inquiries on product quality that lead to setting/improving guidelines for our manufacturing processes/suppliers
- Participate in internal audit team activities
- Assist with technical information, training and coaching of other employees, customers and suppliers
- Special project responsibilities based on quality, environment and health & safety
- Safeguard assets of the company in general but most specifically those within your area of responsibility
- Work within the guidelines of ISO Standards for quality and environment
- Work within the guidelines of OHSAS 18001, the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and Company Policies
