Position: Senior Mining Engineer
Location: Sudbury, Ontario & other locations

Qualifications:

• Degree in Mining Engineering or related field with experience
• MIN 4 yrs in underground mining experience
• Underground mine design, mining engineering, drilling/blasting, backfilling, scheduling, survey incentives, mine’s metrics/Prodstats tracking required
• Knowledge of scheduling, grade tracking and engineering software (MineCAD and EPS)
• Knowledge of rock mechanics modeling, micro-seismics, ground support and instrumentation
• Knowledge of ventilation modeling and air flow systems would be an asset

Expected Roles and Responsibilities:

• Set and track the short-range mining schedule with the defined timing and completion of the mining processes and associated support activities
• Define the timing and coordinate the activities of the MTS (Mines Technical Services) engineering and geology group to ensure the appropriate technical service provided to support the operations
• Ensure the execution of the mining plan and to track the schedule, as-builts and actual processes, productivities and mine’s performance
• Provide technical support, advice and assistance to the mine operators and MTS technical regarding mining strategies and methods
• Provide technical support, coordination and advice to MTS employees regarding engineering services (for survey incentives, Prodstats/metrics tracking, drilling & blasting, backfill, miscellaneous holes, safety notices etc.)
• Ensure the MTS designs, processes and approvals meet the MTS guidelines, standards and legislation
• Ensure the mining plans are completed and tracked with appropriate input from technical experts in the fields of backfill, geotechnical and ventilation systems design and metrics
• Ensure project work for future mining methods and sequencing for underground and/or surface deposits are defined and completed to support the execution plan
• Provide guidance on the mining designs, plans and layouts for the MTS mining engineers and/or mine technologists, Mine Engineers and others as required
• Provide on-call duties if required for technical assistance with mining and execution issues
