Qualifications:

• 8-10 years of industrial experience leading project teams, scoping projects and implementing projects
• License to practice with a Canadian engineering association and shall be eligible for registration with APEGM (Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Manitoba)
• PMP Certification
• Experience in design and support of power distribution equipment and switchgear from 600 Volts to 13.8KV
• Experience with motor controls including soft starters and VFDs
• Experience conducting power systems studies including load flow, short circuit analysis and arc flash studies
• Design of grounding systems
• Hardware selection and design of PLC control systems, including HMIs
• Programming experience for PLCs and HMIs
• Project management experience
• Detailed working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and other regulations, codes and standards applicable within Canada
• Experience in analysis and classification of electrical hazardous areas
• Detailed knowledge of electric machines (AC, DC, wound rotor, synchronous), including maintenance, and testing
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Microstation CAD software

Expected Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead power distribution and control projects as well as multi-discipline engineering projects
• Work involves switchgear, protection and control, grounding systems, motor control, VFDs, PLC control and automation
• Involved with the development of engineering processes, engineering standards and standardization of equipment specifications
