Our client is a rapidly expanding Canadian-based gold mining company with the vision of becoming an intermediate North American gold producer. They boast 30 years of exploration, development and gold production experience, a pipeline of development and exploration opportunities, and a strong Board supporting management. They have many near-term goals including but not limited to operating 4 to 5 mines and achieving valuation parity with their peer group of Canadian junior gold producers. Qualifications:
- 8+ years of relevant experience in the mining environment
- Certification as a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or significant relevant experience
- Excellent leadership, project management, communication and computer skills
- Bilingual (speaking, reading and writing)
- Ability to work and motivate others within a team environment
- Computer literacy with skills in Word and Excel
Expected Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance to all environmental legislation is met or exceeded
- Organizes yearly operational priorities, production forecasts and budgets
- Ensures day-to-day development, communication, implementation and daily administration of the mechanical operations
- Supervises and mentors other supervisors and employees by planning, organizing and communicating company policies, work standards and Health & Safety objectives along with training for all positions to achieve efficient operations and meet legislation
- Supervise and lead a crew of employees during scheduled work days
- Ensure administration of training records are filled out
- Oversee and ensure administration of payroll documents is correct and send them on time for processing
- Ensure all equipment maintenance ean dpreventative maintenance inspections are performed and acted upon to achieve the highest production volume
- Fully participates in management meetings, gives ideas and opinions and accepts the group decision
- Ensures road maintenance and upgrading of the infrastructure
- Ensures Camp and Mine Site water distribution and sewage systems are functioning properly and efficiently
- Ensures that maintenance is up-kept and needed construction repairs are supervised and completed
- Responsible for equipment sourcing
