Our client is a junior mining and Exploration Company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development and operation of mining properties in Canada, and is currently focused primarily on nickel in Ontario.
Our client started commercial production in the fourth quarter of 2005. They are presently undertaking feasibility studies that will explore options for mine expansion and a pre-feasibility study.
The company’s exploration and mining properties represent an excellent balance of green-fields and advanced projects that deliver a strong growth potential through new discoveries and development of existing deposits.
Due to their aggressive growth and success, our client is currently hiring for the position of an
UNDERGROUND MINE SUPERVISOR located in Sudbury.
Essential Functions:
- Works in compliance with the company’s safety rules and the internal responsibility System.
- Must be physically able to conduct the assigned work such as walking up and down ramps, ladders and stairways, working in active work headings, conduct lifting, pulling on heavy parts. Must be able to conduct general check scaling.
- Participates in appropriate training and complies within the scope of their responsibilities within the Environmental Management System.
- Observe crew and correct where each employee is not following mine standards, so they will perform all tasks injury free and in the same method as the cross shift.
- Confirm that all lines, grade and ground support will deliver the results required to meet the standards set by the Ground Control designate.
- Line up the next shift so each man on all shifts perform at the highest level of productivity.
- Line up crews to follow priorities so required production will be attained each month.
- Have all setup work done in a heading before advancing to the face.
- Observe, instruct and remove equipment operators as required to prevent damage on equipment.
