Our client is a mining and Exploration Company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development and operation of mining properties in Canada, and is currently focused primarily on nickel in Ontario.

The company’s exploration and mining properties represent an excellent balance of green-fields and advanced projects that deliver a strong growth potential through new discoveries and development of existing deposits.

Due to their aggressive growth and success, our client is currently hiring for the position of a Senior Mine Manager located in Sudbury.

Essential Functions:

• Works in compliance with company’s safety rules and the internal responsibility System.
• Must be physically able to conduct the assigned work such as walking up and down ramps, ladders and stairways, working in active work headings, conduct lifting, pulling on heavy parts. Must be able to conduct general check scaling.
• Participates in appropriate training and complies within the scope of their responsibilities within the Environmental Management System.
• Working with the VP Operations / CEO, plan, develop and implement strategy for operational management and development so as to meet agreed organizational performance plans within agreed budgets and timescales for the Mine reopening and subsequent mine development.
• Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development.
• Monitor measure and report to VP Operations, as required, on operational issues, opportunities, development plans and achievements within agreed timescales.
• Direct and develop senior staff.
• Manage and control department expenditures within agreed budgets.
• Participate, as key contributor, to the evaluation and development of mine plans in cooperation with the management team and the VP Operations / CEO.

Due to the cyclical nature of the mining industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the department.
