Our Client is America’s leading manufacturer & supplier of specialist ground support products to the underground industry. They have successfully established its Underground Business Sector. They are now a leader in the development, production and application of underground products. Due to their aggressive growth strategy, our client has an immediate opening for a Territory Sales Representative.

Reports to: West / East Sales Manager

Job Summary:

Responsible for all aspects of sales functions for their defined geographic territory. Responsible for the proper administration of company reporting policies, training of end users and marketing intelligence to achieve corporate objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the setting of business plan objectives and benchmarks with regard to marketing and sales activities.
  • Ensures that action plans are created and implemented for his/her territory in order to achieve these goals and objectives.
  • Establishes regular reporting of the results to the General Manager and Sales Manager groups.
  • Participates and maintains the sales budget in respect to his or her territory.
  • Ensures that training programs are in place to enhance end users skills to enable the company to consistently produce quality products with services that meet or exceed requirements.
  • Ensures regular visits (4x per year) to mine sites to meet with end users, mine superintendents, purchasing reps to ensure COMPANY is meeting the customer needs and gather future information which will help drive forecasting, budgets, and innovative solutions.
  • Participates in pricing strategy as requested.
  • Provides/ensures all technical training is in place to meet the customer expectations and ensure all products are properly installed as engineered
  • Provides conformity reports/test results to customers as requested.
  • Promotes, adheres and contributes to the development of the sales department to ensure long-term customer satisfaction.
  • Participates in product shows and demos as requested

Sales Functions:

  • Develops a sales call program 12 months in advance which is updated quarterly to ensure all customers are called on regularly.
  • Submits a call report after each dealer visit that gathers specific market intelligence and forwards to the Sales Manager & General Manager weekly.
  • Administers all sales programs within his/her territory.
  • Identifies and reports new opportunities on acquisitions, new product opportunities and new or unmet customer needs.
  • Recognizes and pursues marketing opportunities for the company’s existing products.
  • Assists in identifying and analyzing new needs of existing customers and new markets in order to develop growth opportunities for the company.
  • Assists in analyzing competing companies and products to determine their strengths, weaknesses and how our company should position itself to counter or take advantage of these factors.
